Description
A Winter Underquilt For The Hennesey Hammock means: No more wrestling with pads inside the hammock. No more waking up cold in the middle of the night. The “Winter Nest” hammock underquilt for thee Hennesey Hammock retains the convenience of the Hennessy bottom entrance with a split entrance w/non-snagging, mixed hook & loop (fastens to itself) that attaches to the Hennessy’s entrance hook and loop. The “Winter Nest” attaches to the hammock in under a minute without sewing or special hardware (attachment instructions). It comes with a JRB Suspension System and the improved foot end draw cord modification to assist in the elimination of the dead air pocket that sometimes is experienced under the legs.
Over-stuff: 25% over-stuff included!
All Jacks ‘R’ Better quilts are overstuffed by at least 25%. We do not recommend additional over stuffing. If you think you need additional over-stuff consider purchasing the next warmer quilt model.
Compression Sack: A lot of folks no longer use compressions sacks and instead keep their quilts dry inside a lawn contractor bag or trash compactor liner. We do not want anyone to have to pay for something they do not want so now we offer them separately. For 0 degree quilts, we recommend the large size compression sack.
Note: The Winter Nest is specifically designed for bottom entry Hennessy Hammocks. For side/zip entry Hennessy Hammocks we recommended the Mount Washington 4 underquilt.
Activ-dri down™ – Activ-dri™ is a hydrophobic down treatment that keeps the down drier, while having no adverse effects on the loft, fill power, or warmth retention. Activ-dri down is still down insulation and should be protected from direct exposure to moisture. All types of insulation, whether down or synthetic, will degrade in insulation capability if wetted.
Robert –
I originally purchased my quilt in Sept 2016, and after many years of service it is still a regular part of my kit.
This is a truly amazing underquilt. I have used this quilt in combination with a Hammock Gear 40F overquilt and the Hennesey super shelter to sleep comfortably in -25 degree Celsius weather. All in a system that easily fits in a backpack.
Conservatively rated for sure, and combined with other cold weather systems you can conquer your winter hammocking dreams. I really can’t recommend it enough.
